Either way I cannot forsee any company completly halting torrents, it’s currently too big to destroy all together, and you would Have to destroy it all, other wise something will sqeeze trough, and probably this.

I must get my hands on the music… I’ll check if Yoko Kanno is doing this one too, but that song in the trailer is definitely a new one by Origa, just like on the series OST - the lovely Shanti Snyder’s voice is unmistakeable.

ZOMG, simultaneously world-around instead of only in Japan. …and if the DVDs didn’t cost US$30 per two-episode disc! $30*13~=$400 just for one season!

Furthermore, fansubbers do for free whatever it costs Bandai to delay from producing and including English subtitles in the initial DVD release. Too bad Bandai cannot learn to work with fansubbing communities instead of against them.

I watched it last night, it was all japanese so I didn’t follow the story as well as if it would have been subbed. It was awesome, I’m so happy that the series and the story is being continued on and with such quality, truley entertaining. Now I’m spending much free time searching for a subtitle file for it!!!

any1 found some subtitles for the raw??? I watch it but it kill me not to understand the plot….. :’(

Some open subtitles organization has a subtitle file (srt) for it ^_^; (the quality seems a bit low, however… -missing words, simplifications- but it still helps a lot, so thanks to them ^_^).

I just finished watching the subbed version. As always, GITS production quality is top line, the character profiles well thought out (and consistent with previous SAC’s I & II) Batou is till the hard-ass who is whipped on Motoka, Tokusa now carries an automatic but still loves his revolver, etc. . ) Personally what I find so attractive about both the series and this new condensed-format continuation (and the movies, of course) are the detailed, often politically oriented plots and the CONTINUITY. I don’t thin k I’ve ever noticed any inconsistencies. This seems to bring a element of realism that I’ve rarely felt with other anime. I would strongley suggest that you grab a fansubbed torrent now before they are shut down (unless you don’t mind waiting and paying). ADV has effectively stopped Gilgamesh torrent releases in their tracks, and with Ghost S.S.S. production costs and the fact that it is one of Pro. I.G.’s crown jewels, they are likely to expend considerable resources on keeping this one boxed up. 8.5/10

It was awsome. Great animation and music. The only thing I will sayis that it ends a little like the original movie.

P.S. regarding the tachikomas. They are alive because tey storeed their ghosts in the cyberspace that they originaly were going to store the ghosts of the people in dajuma. Then after she quit section 9 the major retrieves their ghosts and AI’s. In the end when the major returns to help Section 9 she restors the tachis bodies.

Actually, it wasn’t I.G. that screwed the English-speaking market on this one, but Dreamworks (right here in the ‘States!); nearly every other country in the world has an English-Dub track available…

Despite repeated complaints to Dreamworks, it seems that Spielberg and company could care less about the vast GITS audience, only about the fast buck they hoped to make by releasing the film before the English Dub track became available to them.

Personally, i think dubs take away the spirit of the japanese production. It just loses its feel. I’d rather watch a subbed version than a dubbed one. Also, to sync with the lip movement, much meaning is lost.
