Just found that out through (go laugh Wink) MySpace:

http://www.myspace.com/chrysalislefilm

The teaser is really just a teaser. Don't know French at all, but it seems the plot is about some guy killing women.

Now, feast and dissect, look for info and share.

It's so hot, imdb has got almost nothing on it Wink http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0884335/

Oh, look at the Recomms - wasn't that obvious? Wink

LOL, in an attempt to understand what the movie was about, I tossed the synopsis on that page through babelfish. Here's babelfish's interpretation of the movie:

Synopsis of film: Because it acts of the assassin of his wife, David Hoffmann (Albert Dupontel), lieutenant with the European police force, agrees to take again service to track a dangerous trafficker suspected of a series of murder. An investigation which will carry out it towards a private clinic to the point of technology, directed of an iron hand by professor Brügen. When the truth places with the c?ur memory, the memory appears an invaluable good, object of all covetousnesses. However, certain memories are never erased...

Aren't things so much clearer now?

I hate being a dumb American sometimes. There MUST be a French speaking dude/chick here who can give us the low down on this.

Hi Nem, Thanks!!

I'm really looking to understand what the story is about. At a minimum, I want to know if this is a cyberpunk flick, but more broadly, I'd love to know the technology they are playing with, and what this thing is about. There are a number of sites that seem to cover this movie. I unfortunately don't really understand it all. This site seems to have a lot:

http://www.dvdrama.com/prevfichecine.php?id=1130

But the main site for the movie has a bunch too (obviously):

http://www.chrysalis-lefilm.com

Thats the summary Hammerjack posted a while ago, tho it never really adds to the information already known, i thought i would translate it anyway.
( bare with me with grammatical errors and such, im not perfectly bilingual, thank you !)

Quote:

Because its his wife's assassin, David Hoffman (Albert Dupontel), lieutenant in european police, agrees to get back to his job to track down a dangerous trafficker suspicious of several murders. An inquire who will lead him in a top-notch technology clinic directed by professor Brugen.

When the truth places itself in the heart of memory, the memory reveals being precious, object of everyone's will. ( ouch, that was kinda hard to translate... )

However, some memories are never erased.

Now for the little bit of information we have here
http://www.dvdrama.com/news.php?17404&page=2

Here's what it says :

Quote:

The action takes place at Paris, in 2025. The body of a young immigrant (girl) is found with strange scars around her eyes. David (the cop) is given the inquiry. In the heart of the high tech clinic of professor Minkowski, Manon, his daughter, 'wears' the same scars. Besides her associate Marie Becker, David will have to establish the link between those two 'cases'. Believing he is discovering a vast organ traffic network, David is actually in a quest for his own memory.

The movie is described as a futuristic 'polar' which tends to go towards science-fiction, to a couple of exceptions ( the rest of the sentence makes no sense to me... ) Before pronuncing ourselves, we will have to see how the realisator will negociate the turn which, at first, seems like a police inquiry towards a 'metaphysics giddiness' which will lead the viewer into unknown destinations.

The rest is talking about the casting and the production. Its also stated that the filming is started since last september 12th ( thats probably an old news ) and his due on our screens october 17th 2007.

I can't get into the exclusive content on the official website because the computer im on right now is such crap. I will try this later on when I receive my new laptop ! Smile

This must be good. Albert Dupontel is one of our best actors and also a comedy guy. He's also a very close friend of Terry Gilliam. Wink

Yeah... kinda daft, sorry.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysalis#Chrysalis

A chrysalis is the pupal stage of butterflies. The term is derived from the metallic gold-colouration found in the pupae of many butterflies referred to by the Greek term χρυσός (chrysós) for gold.

It resembles "Chrysler", but it's pronounced totally different, like the name "Chris".
