At the Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF), it was announced that a plan to adapt Tsutomu Nihei's cyberpunk manga BLAME! into a CG animated movie is underway. The production will be handled by Micott and Basara, the same company responsible for the making of Appleseed Ex Machina. Production I.G is also involved for working on the background.

A promotional DVD will be release this summer. No word yet on the release date.

Awesome!
The parts of the CG Appleseed movie that sucked won't be a problem in BLAME! which is awesome, because the parts of Appleseed that rocked were too awesome!

I came.
The past Blame-anime did nice job in replicating the monochrome melancholy of the manga, even if the rest of the anime was just a collection of loose scenes from the story.
I just hope that this one will achieve a little more than just animating a few pages, and that 3D-part could certainly be useful in creating the complex monolithic megastructures.

I'll start holding my breath now!

When I DL'ed the BLAME! animated shorts, none of them wanted to play..
I hope they keep the sharp contrast even though it's a CG animated film, just hope they don't try to make it look too shiny, if you catch my drift.
