Hi Neuromancer and DannyV, both of you have expressed an interest in reviewing cyberpunk games. I think it makes sense to have multiple reviewers for some of these media types - especially ones such as games and books.

I'm guessing we can work out any issues with coordinating reviews. If, for instance, you both want to write a review for the same game, we can accomodate this too by having multiple reviews and a higher level agregation function. Hopefully though, this whole thing "self-organizes." But use this to help work through the details.

Sure thing sfam. And welcome DannyV as well.
Sounds like fun to me.

This could be a good place to suggest reviews and try to coordinate this.
For example i have played and finished Doom3 and am currently playing QuakeIV. I think the visuals alone justify to call these cyberpunk. What do you think?

I was thinking about making a review for Blade Runner next. Is that ok with the both of you?

That's cool. I think we should do a sort of Game Informer format. Whoever calls first dibs on a game does the main review, and the other person does a secondary review as a second opinion. I think we should start mentioning games and assigning them. I call dibs on Deus Ex and the Metal Gear series, but I'm willing to let Deus Ex go for Metal Gear :p Not to brag, but I've played ALL of them, including Metal Gear 2, which never came out here. I've also written essays on the games' storyline, I am just a DIEHARD fan of Metal Gear. I can also procure screencaps.

DannyV,

There absolutely MUST come a review for Deus Ex.
Great idea!
Now there is a masterpiece that deserves a lot of attention.
Warren Spector is truly a genius.
Would you please do us the honor? Wink

Never played Metal Gear so that is just fine with me.
Most of the games i have played are adventures or firstperson shooters so it would seem we can fill in eachothers blanks.

Hey, awesome! So how should I do it, do I just write the review and provide screenshots and you guys post it, or do I get an interface to do it myself? I'm not very profecient with web programming, so I can't directly input any code :s

Hi Danny, I'm running out to a meeting now, but I'll get you into the admin interface tonight. The process we've started with is you do the review yourself in the admin and let me check it for formatting stuff before we post it up. Once you all are comfortable with the process, you should be able to post directly.

EDIT: In terms of actually writing the review, I usually write it in word, transfer it to Notepad without the line wrap, and then copy-paste that into the admin interface for final tagging. I am using the Structured Blogging templates (www.structuredblogging.org), which, while nice for giving a clear format, don't have all the cool bells and whistles that the Wordpress 2.0 interface allows.

I'll post more on this later.

Neuromancer, See if you can go in and edit your game review (I want to make sure you still have rights to do this). You need to add a space after a couple of the titles. Also, one of the paragraphs has a line break in it. Let me know if you can't edit it, and I'll go in and fix these.

I had no problem editing the post so that works fine.
Please feel free to edit it yourself in any way you think will improve it.
Also please correct me if my English isn't correct since it is not my native language...

That's cool. I always write reviews and posts on Word first for coherence and spelling, so that's no problem for me. I just need an interface for posting and I'm set. I'm already writing the review for Deus Ex, it'll be done soon Smile

By the way, Neuromancer, great review on IHNMAIMS, that is truly a disturbing and dark game, based faithfully on a disturbing and dark story. Truly an unsung masterpiece.

I checked my e-mail, but nothing's arrived :s

How about sending me the info through a private message right here on the forum? Or try sending it to my hotmail account(valentindaniel@hotmail.com).
